Target Try-On • September 2019

It’s been a little while since I shared some stuff from Target with you guys, so I thought I’d check the clothing out and see what I could find. We all know I’m at Target a shameful number of times per week, especially now that I’m back to school and I can stop in there really quickly without my children.

First up, this adorable leopard dress. It’s a midi length, so it’s definitely work appropriate! The buttons are functional, so it’s a nursing friendly option, which is so hard to find in a cute dress! It comes with the belt attached and looks perfect! I’m wearing the XS in this photo because it was all they had in stock. I would have preferred the small, because it was bunching a bit. So I would say it’s TTS.

My booties are from Target as well, but they’re a bit older and out of stock in most regular sizes. However, they are available in most wide sizes!

I absolutely loved this top! The color is perfect for fall! The fit was so comfortable! It would look great with denim, colored denim, or white denim like I’m wearing here. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small!

This pair of white denim is so cute, but unfortunately too long for me. I had to cuff them and I just didn’t love the way that it looked with these booties. I feel like it made me look much shorter than I already am. They were very comfortable, and as you’ll see, they looked much better with the flats I tried on. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 6.

This shirt is one of my favorite items I tried on. It’s perfect for the current transition from summer to fall. It looks great with shorts and pants. It’s super comfortable, hits at exactly the right length, and comes in a variety of colors. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

I absolutely love love love these flats! They’re a perfect color for fall, the fit is amazing. They’re TTS, I’m wearing an 8.

No joke the day after I tried this sweatshirt on, one of my students was wearing it to school! That honestly made me love it even more! It’s so cute, so comfy, and just perfect. I love the stripes, the colors, and the little embroidered heart! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

This denim was such an amazing pair of clean, simple denim. They are so comfortable. The perfect dark wash with no distressing. As always, I had to cuff them, but that’s not a huge issue for me. The best part?! They’re $15!!

A perfect go to outfit for running errands or lounging around the house. Throw on a tee, leggings, and a sweater and you’re good to go!

I absolutely adore this cardigan. It’s such an amazing color! The fit was also great! It’s long enough for leggings and I can’t get enough! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

As always, a simple white tee is essential. This is a small and I think I would have preferred a medium, especially since I was wearing it with leggings, and well…. two kids = no longer perfectly flat stomach. I’ve gone through multiple of these tees from Target and will continue to love them!

These leggings! They’re supposed to be a great dupe for the Spanx faux leather leggings. I’m not at a point in my life where I can justify $100 leggings, so I opted for the $15 pair from Target, and y’all, they’re good. So. Good! I am obsessed. I actually sized down in these to a small and they’re perfect!

Years ago I was obsessed with zebra print. I think I went through a phase where I was kind of over it, but animal print is back this fall and I am here for it!! I’ve never really stopped loving the animal prints, but I toned them down when they weren’t as popular. This sweater is so cute! I love the balloon sleeves. I will be honest, though, it was slightly itchy. I was hot and in a rush and flustered, but I do remember it wasn’t the absolute softest thing I’ve ever tried on. was it cute?! Yes. Would I still wear it? Absolutely! It paired so well with the same leggings and flats from the previous picture. My store didn’t have a small, so I tried on the medium. I’d have gone with the small if they’d had one in stock. It’s definitely TTS.

I paired the sweater with the same leggings and flats but it would also work with denim as well.

What was your favorite item from the try on? What are you loving from target that I didn’t have a chance to share? Let’s chat!

Target Try-On July 2019

So, let’s just get this out of the way… if you don’t like camo or leopard, we can’t be friends. I’m kidding. Only a little bit. But seriously, you’re going to see a lot of those so, consider yourself warned.

With all the frenzy around the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and the fact that many of you aren’t shopping it, I decided hit up a place that I can access easily! Not that I’ve ever in my life been disappointed by Target, we’ve been in a relationship for a very long time, but Target is killing it lately! (Their only flaw is the fitting room situation. I don’t know where you guys are finding Targets with such fancy fitting rooms, but I’m jealous!) I pretty much want to buy the entire store! They have so many great things that you can wear dressed up or dressed down!

I told you, camo is everywhere and I’m here for it! This camo sweatshirt is perfection. It’s just the right amount of oversized without being too big. It would work with leggings, white denim, jeans, or shorts, as I’m wearing it below. I’m wearing a small and it’s designed to be slightly oversized. I could have easily worn the XS if I wanted it to be a little bit more fitted.

These shorts are so comfortable! I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned them before. They didn’t have my normal size 4 so I felt brave and grabbed the 2. Much to my surprise they fit and were really comfy. So I would say they run slightly large. Your normal size would probably work but you may be able to size down one.

Camo Shirt | Denim Shorts

First let’s talk about this cardigan! I absolutely loved the color, the fit, everything. It was perfect. The only problem with it is that I cannot find it online! Ugh! I’m so upset! But I will keep looking for it and update when it is available! Definitely check your local target to see if they have it in stock! I’m assuming its a new fall item and should be showing up online soon! Its perfectly TTS, I’m wearing a small!

This tank is awesome! Its so comfortable and bonus, the buttons are functional, so it’s nursing friendly for my breastfeeding mamas! I’m actually wearing a medium here, but need a small, my bra kept peeking out the top of the shirt. Its a really nice material, super soft and thick, but not so thick that you can’t wear it in the summer. It would probably also look super cute knotted at the bottom. Definitely get your true size.

These jeans are the Denizen by Levi’s brand and they’re super comfy! They have a light amount of distressing and a cute slit at the ankle. I’m wearing a 4/5 and I definitely think I could have sized down. They weren’t super loose, but they weren’t as fitted as I’d like them.

Tank | Cardigan | Denim

Here, I’m wearing that same tank, and paired it with my absolute favorite pants from Target. I’ve been eyeing them for months waiting for them to go on sale (simply because I don’t need them). They’re still really affordable! The length is absolutely perfect for me. I’m 5’4″ for reference. They’re so comfortable and have a perfect fit! They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 4.

Tank | Pants

Same tank, paired with the shorts from above, and this gorgeous cardigan. Its definitely one of my favorite items I tried on! For sure a fall staple item, and a much cuter (in my opinion) and more affordable opinion than all of the cardigans people are freaking out about in the NSALE. It’s light enough to wear now on a cooler day and will work great as it continues to cool off! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

How cute is this little crossbody bag?! Its the perfect taupe color and a great size. Not too big, not too small. Just perfect! As a mom, I love a good tote bag, because I can throw anything in it and go, but I also really like a crossbody bag for when we are out and about with the kids and I’m chasing them around.

Cardigan | Tank | Shorts | Bag

I paired this gorgeous leopard top with the denim I had on, but this top would pair so well with black denim or dress pants for the office. It is a sheer material, but I’m wearing A nude bra and you can’t really see it. If it’s too sheer for you, a nude cami like this one would be a great option. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Leopard Shirt | Jeans

More leopard. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. This top is so pretty and also nursing friendly! It has a solid white back and is the perfect length. It’s a faux wrap top with a little clasp that makes it easy to wear if you’re breastfeeding! So pretty and would work great with dress pants for the office. It’s TTS I’m wearing a small.

Leopard Tee | Jeans

I decided to pair the cardigan from above with this outfit and I was not disappointed. Such versatile pieces!

Cardigan | Shirt | Jeans

I was showing my husband the pictures and he told me this top was his favorite. It has a really great fit, and actually comes in another color that I think I’d prefer over this because it’s a more muted stripe pattern. This one is really more of a rusty orange color, but for some reason it was pulling so much more red when I took the picture. It has a really different cut. The back is longer and the front has a rounded bottom. It’s perfect for higher waisted pants! The v-neck isn’t too low cut and you could easily throw a cardigan over it for work! It’s TTS I’m wearing a small.

Top | Jeans

Okay I am not even exaggerating, the same day I tried this on, I saw 4, yes FOUR, people post it on Instagram. I left target and was browsing Instagram and it just kept showing up. If you decide to buy anything from this haul, GET THIS DRESS! It’s so cute and amazingly comfortable! It’s not too short and the babydoll fit is flattering for anyone! It’s a nice bonus that this cute bag goes so well with it too! I’m actually wearing an XS and it works fine for me. If you’re taller you may want to go with your normal size.

Dress | Bag

I decided to dress it down a bit by throwing a chambray top over it. If you don’t own a chambray shirt, you need one. They’re so versatile! You can wear them with everything! This one is also TTS, I’m wearing a small!

Favorite Affordable Denim

I have absolutely no problem splurging on a high quality item, if I can justify the purchase and it’s not completely outrageous. (I love a good designer handbag, but I’m talking like Coach… not Louis Vuitton – although I would graciously accept a Neverfull if someone felt like gifting me one.) However, I don’t think it’s an absolute necessity to spend a fortune on some things, like denim. I have so many affordable pairs that fit me so well! So, why would I spend hundreds of dollars on something I don’t absolutely need. I’d rather have a few extra Starbucks runs! I honestly try to keep my denim purchases below $50. But I will go higher if I feel they are truly worth it.

I’ve seen several of my favorite bloggers talking about Old Navy recently, and I’ve been IMPRESSED. I’ve never had any problems with Old Navy, in fact, there was a time that it was one of my go-to shopping spots. But more recently, I’d kind of gotten away from it. I’m telling you, they’ve got good stuff and it’s so affordable!

For YEARS, the only place I would buy denim was American Eagle. Like, I literally wouldn’t even try on denim anywhere else because they were that good. I feel like either I was going through a weird phase, or they were, because there was a period of time that I just really couldn’t find jeans I loved there. It was actually devastating because I was a loyal customer. Fast forward to now, and I’m back on the American Eagle train. I’ve gotten a few new pairs recently and I can’t get enough. (I’ve got two more coming this week!)

Like I said, the price is important, but it’s not the only thing that matters. If something looks or feels cheap, I’m out. I want the look and feel of high end without that high end price tag. I like my jeans to stay the same size all day. Isn’t it the worst when your jeans fit amazingly in the morning and by the end of the day they’re falling off?!

This pair from Old Navy is a perfect pair for work. I’m a teacher, so as much as I love a good pair of distressed denim, it’s better to save those for the weekend. This pair has just the slightest distressing at the ankle and they look so good! They are high rise, which is great!Disclaimer: The picture on the website does not do these jeans justice.

Find them here.

Another amazing pair from Old Navy! These are more distressed, but seriously SO CUTE! Again, I feel like these are so much better on and in person than they are on the model online. C’mon Old Navy, you’ve got to get better pictures!

Find them here.

These American Eagle jeans are perfect! They’re not distressed at all, so they’re great for casual Friday at work, but they’re still so cute, and comfy! They’re super high waisted and the button fly adds a nice touch!

Find them here.

This pair of is my all time favorite pair of distressed denim, unfortunately (but not really) I’ve lost some weight and they’re too big on me now. They kind of fit like a boyfriend jean, which honestly isn’t that bad. I’m debating whether or not to buy a new pair or just keep the ones I have. (YMI isn’t a brand I hear a lot of people talking about, but their stuff is good!! They make skinny “jeans” in just about every color that are PERFECT for work!)

I purchased mine from Jules and James Boutique, but you can find them here.

This pair of Lauren Conrad jeans from Kohl’s are another great staple. They have no distressing and are a darker color (also available in lighter shades) so they look great dressed up or down! A perfect mid rise pair of denim.

Find them here.

Lastly, is this super cute and comfy pair from Walmart. I never in a million years would have thought to even look at Walmart, until one of my favorite bloggers talked about these. I couldn’t pass them up for the price! They’re great quality too! A slightly lower rise, but by no means would they fit in the category of low rise.

Find them here.

I’m always on the hunt for good budget denim! What are some of your favorites?
