Try-On Tuesday: Old Navy

I know I do a lot of try-ons at Old Navy, but that’s because they have really high quality items for such a reasonable price. I actually ran in to make a few returns the other day and saw SO many amazing spring pieces that I had to try some of them on. Who else is OVER winter and so ready for spring and summer?!

Also, LOL at my fake tan. I didn’t go all the way up my thigh with it because it’s definitely not shorts season right now and I’m not about wasting product.

You guys. This romper. It is absolutely gorgeous! The pattern is so pretty! It has a little button hook on the back of the neck, and opens up, so it’s super easy to put on and take off. I’m wearing a small, so I’d say it’s TTS.

These sandals are literally the most comfortable pair of sandals. I have the leopard pair from last summer and I’ll be buying the tan ones once it’s warmer for sure! They’re TTS, I’m wearing an 8 here but I have an 8.5 in the leopard and they fit perfectly. If you have wider feed I would size up.

Romper | Sandals

This dress was another item that caught my eye! It’s a swing dress so it’s very flowy and relaxed. Thus it may not be an ideal fit for everyone. I think it would look super cute belted and with booties for spring! I sized down to an XS, and I definitely recommend going down a size unless you have a larger chest or shoulders.

Dress | Sandals

I absolutely loved this top on the hanger, and definitely would have gone with a size small, but all they had was an XS. I thought it just had such a pretty detailed pattern on it. It came in several other color options but I really liked this off-grey shade. Definitely go with your true size in this one.

This was a perfect pair of basic denim shorts. They are a mid rise and have a 3” inseam, which is my favorite. I’d say go with your true size or size up one if you like a looser fit. I’m wearing a 4 and they’re fine but a 6 would have worked as well.

Tee | Shorts | Sandals

This top might just be my favorite thing I tried on. It is absolutely beautiful! The pattern and colors are just so gorgeous for spring. It fit really well, I’m wearing my true size small.

Top | Shorts | Sandals

I really liked this button front shirt. It was very crisp and clean looking and I love how it paired with the distressed shorts. It would also look super cute with black denim or shorts. Another cute option would be to layer it with a cardigan.

I definitely needed a size up in these shorts. I went with my normal Old Navy size, and they were a boyfriend fit, but pretty snug. They weren’t uncomfortable, I would have just preferred a size up. I loved the distressing and the color!

Top | Shorts | Sandals

Lastly, I threw on this super soft and cozy hoodie. I could live in this thing! I really loved the subtle tie-dye pattern. It also came in at least one other color! I sized up to a medium in this one for a more over sized fit. (I definitely wouldn’t pair it with these shoes.)

Hoodie | Shorts | Sandals

Which was your favorite item? Are you ready for spring fashion, or do you live in a place like lovely Ohio, that still has quite a while before its time for cute springy items?

Try-On Tuesday: Target

Coming at you with some amazing pieces that I found recently at Target! Except the bermuda shorts off to the side in the first image. They were hideous. I’ve truly only ever found one pair of long shorts I like and they’re from American Eagle last year and of course, they didn’t bring them back this year.

If you follow my Instagram, which I’m thinking there’s a good chance you do, then you already know that I bought this sweater! (PS if you’re not following me there, head on over! I post almost daily there!) I can’t say enough good about this sweater. It’s the softest thing, looks adorable with denim and will be perfect with some shorts whenever the cold weather decides to part ways with Northeast Ohio for good. I wore it out to dinner with friends the other day followed by bowling and I was so comfy all night. I actually got really warm at one point but that is because I was chasing toddlers around a busy bowling alley. My jeans are actually a pair of Levi’s I grabbed from JCPenney recently, and cannot recommend them enough! The loafers I’m wearing are from Target, unfortunately though, sizing is very limited! I’ll link them though and hope that one of you gets lucky enough to snag a pair! Lastly, my bag. I’m literally OBSESSED with this bag. But I think I’ve already talked about it here, and I don’t want to bore you.

Sweater | Jeans | Loafers | Bag

I was thinking about how lucky I am to have a fairly relaxed dress code, and realized that some teachers do have to wear things that are a little dressier. So, I grabbed some black pants, that of course aren’t online yet, (I’ll update when they are) and dressier tops. I thought that this top was so pretty! I’m wearing a black bra because I’m such a great planner and its fully lined so you can barely tell. Not saying I’d wear the black bra, but you get the point. I’m wearing a small here and think it fits perfectly TTS.

I also paired this with these pretty wedges, which in my opinion are a staple wardrobe item for every woman! Of course I didn’t wear these out of the fitting room, but they seemed pretty comfortable and looked adorable!

Tank | Wedges

The next top I paired with the black pants was this pretty little thing! I thought it was gorgeous on the hanger and I really loved it once I put it on. I’m wearing a medium here but definitely could have gone with the small. Also, note the black bra. Definitely a top you want to wear nude with.

Top | Wedges

Here is a better look at the neckline of this gorgeous top and this time I paired it with these rose colored shorts. They were such a pretty color and a perfect length. I tried on the 4 and the 6 but overall preferred the 6. I’m a size up in your shorts kind of gal, so I always recommend sizing up in shorts.

Top | Shorts | Wedges

Quick top change for this super soft and adorable shirt. It not only looks perfect with these shorts, but also really cute with jeans… and of course I didn’t take a picture of that combo, because I’m a professional blogger over here..

Top | Shorts | Wedges

This top was one of the first things that caught my eye during this Target run. It was gorgeous! I’m wearing an XS, which I didn’t even realize when I was trying it on. So I’d say to go down if you’re between sizes! It is just so pretty and would look great with denim, black pants or even a skirt!

This pair of shorts was one of the items I went into Target to look for. Same as the rose colored pair, I tried on both the 4 and the 6 and preferred the 6. They both fit comfortably, but I figured with washing and drying them, I’d go with the larger of the two if between sizes.

Where I’ve Been… and Some Recent Finds I’ve Been Loving ❤️

Hey everyone!

I just felt the need to hop on here and let you know that I am still going to be posting to the blog, I’m just currently in a state of… holy crap this is a lot of work and I’m trying to balance my life.

The holidays took up a lot of my time, I know it’s February now, but I’ve also been battling several colds/infections/viruses? I’m not entirely sure… but I’m hopefully on the mend for good this time. Things have been crazy busy and I think I’m finally getting to a point where I can sit down and plan things out and get back to regularly posting here on the blog.

I’ve been focusing a lot of my energy trying to grow my instagram following and truly learning just how much work goes into the whole blogging thing! Seriously, major shoutout to those people who do this because… wow. I’d love to be able to post something almost daily, but that’s not a guarantee. I’m trying to come up with some ideas of things to share with you and would love your input!

I’m planning to share a Try-on every Tuesday with you! And I’ve got a few other ideas! But if there are any things that you’d like to see let me know!

Stay tuned for some new content coming this week! ❤️

This Palmers Vitamin E oil. Truly, honestly, I’m not even being dramatic, this has changed my skin’s life. Like I promise you I’m never going to stop using this. I bought my mom a bottle for Christmas, and I think I’m going to start giving it to everyone I know. It’s amazing, and under $10!

Since I’ve been sick, I’ve been drinking tea like it’s my job. So an electric kettle has been my lifesaver. I can’t linkour exact version, because we’ve had it for several years, but this is a similar option by the same brand. If you’re a tea drinker, or like a French press cup of coffee, I highly recommend one of these!

Target

I looked at this bag several different times at Target before I finally grabbed it. And I’m honestly mad I waited as long as I did! This bag is so cute and holds everything plus more. It also comes in a super cute grey color with a slightly different pattern on the flap. I struggled to decide on which I liked more. But eventually decided on the cognac color, because I’m a sucker for a neutral. Bonus, it’s 20% off right now! Snag one while it’s on sale!

I’m constantly looking for ways to be healthier and trying to incorporate healthy options into my diet. Enter TeamiBlends. I’d actually heard of and looked into Teami before they reached out, so when they gave me the opportunity to try their greens I was so excited! I truly do love this stuff! It tastes delicious, is super easy to mix in, and gives me enough energy to get through my afternoon! Through February 17th, you can get 25% off with code SSMITH25 at teamiblends.

Abercrombie denim has stolen my heart. Seriously never in a million years did I think I would be wearing Abercrombie again in my 30s. But I’ve been loving them lately!

These self tanners have been amazing! Of course if you’ve been here for a minute, you know I’ve already talked in depth about self tanners… However, I’ve been experimenting with a few different new ones, some that were sent to me and some I’ve purchased with my own money.

The first ones that were sent to me were by the brand Golden Star Beauty. I’m being 100% honest that I truly do like the products.. however, at this time of year, when my skin turns into even more of the Sahara desert than it normally is, I’ve found that the tanning oil is just not as moisturizing as I would like it to be. It probably doesn’t help that I also take showers with nearly boiling water… but I enjoy them, and nobody said you have to. I absolutely love the face serum. I’ve been using it daily for almost 3 months, and I still have some left. It gives my face a nice, natural glow, doesn’t irritate it at all, or cause any breakouts! I have fairly sensitive skin, so I’m always concerned when using a new product. It doesn’t get my face super dark, like some of the body tanning products I use, but I also frequently exfoliate my face, so I’m sure that if I were to do that less often, it would be more tan.

I thoroughly enjoy both the body tanning products, the lotion and the oil. The lotion doesn’t get you quite as dark as the oil, which is also another reason it works best for winter.

Amazon

This tanning lotion is fantastic, especially for the winter! I’ve actually been using it off and on since the summer. If you follow Jen Reed, @thesisterstudioig, then you know she raves about this company’s AMAZING face wash, that I too am obsessed with. So because I loved the face wash so much I decided that I’d try the tanner. It’s amazing as well! It’s never patchy, goes on easily, is super moisturizing, and you don’t have to rinse it off, but still get a nice dark tan!

Amazon

Right around Christmas we grabbed a Dyson cordless vacuum for a MAJOR discount and could not be happier. This thing is perfect for kids and pets! We have some built in shelving in a few areas around the house and my husband actually just used this to dust them, because let’s be honest, you need a ladder to get to them and they don’t get dusted often enough, and it worked amazingly! Highly, highly recommend!

Also, how cute is the little kid’s Dyson?! we’ve had this for a while and it actually vacuums. (How sad is it that my toddlers got a Dyson before me? LOL)

These are a few of the things I’ve been loving lately! I promise the blog won’t be lonely as long as it has been! I’ll be back to normally scheduled posting from now on! ❤️❤️

Old Navy Try-On

If you haven’t already heard, let me tell you about the sale going on this weekend at Old Navy! The entire store is 50% off for their friends and family sale, and I don’t want any of you to miss out. You just have to check your email for the discount code. They sent specific codes out to everyone!

I know it hasn’t been all that long since my last Old Navy try-on, but I knew with a sale like this, I had to go look again and see what new items they had!

Please disregard the mirror, it was filthy.

First up, is this tunic length flannel. The black and white combo is such a clean, classy look, and I can’t get enough of it. Its TTS, I’m wearing the small and it fits perfectly!

I paired it with a white luxe bracelet sleeve top for a layering piece. I absolutely love all of the luxe tops from Old Navy. I can wear a small or a medium in these, but here I’m wearing the small, so I’d call it TTS. These come in so many different colors. They’re a perfect layering piece, and a must have in my book. Seriously, give me ALL of the luxe tops!

I snatched up a pair of denim that I don’t already own, and I immediately regretted that, because shockingly, I fell in love with these as well! I know, you never saw that coming. Old Navy Denim is just so good and such an amazing price, how can you not love it? They’re an ankle length, with a raw hem, but I cuffed them to accommodate the booties. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 2.

These booties are adorable! They’re super comfy, of course I didn’t do any walking in them, but standing in them felt fine! They come in several colors as well. They’re TTS I’m wearing an 8.

Tunic | Tee | Denim | Booties

I wanted to go with a more dressed up look so I paired the tunic with a blazer. This blazer was so good! I’ve got several blazers in my closet, and they were pricey, and I’d say that this gives them a solid run for their money. It’s a heavier weight, super stretchy, and super comfortable! I loved how it paired with the button front tunic, denim, and booties, but you could easily dress this up a lot more with a pair of dress pants or a skirt.

Blazer | Tunic | Denim | Booties

This scarf doesn’t need an explanation! It’s so good. These colors are the best!

Scarf | Tee | Denim | Booties

I’m pretty sure I’ll never stop loving this buffalo plaid print for the holidays. This sweater comes in several different color/style options, but of course the red and black were just speaking to me. I grabbed a medium for a more oversized fit and I loved it. I could have worn the small if I wanted a more fitted look.

Totally blanked on removing this size sticker…

Sweater | Denim | Booties

This sweater was one of my faves from this try-on. I loved the color grey, with the subtle but adorable little pom poms on the front. There were other color options as well. I did size up in this one as well, to a medium.

Sweater | Denim | Booties

I absolutely adored this dress. It was the perfect fit, length, sleeve length, and everything. I normally don’t love ribbed material, because I feel as though it tends to make things appear more casual than you intend, but I LOVED this. I’m wearing an XS and I definitely recommend getting your true size. They only had an XS and a medium in store, and I knew the medium would be too big, but the XS definitely squeezed me a little bit too tight.

Dress | Booties

Of all the things I tried on, this one wasn’t my absolute favorite, but I still liked it. It was super comfortable, but I just know that I’m always cold, so I don’t want to wear a cozy sweater that isn’t full length sleeves. I would also pair it with denim and sneakers instead of black pants and heels. It is TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Speaking of black pants…. If you live in a cooler climate, stop reading this right now and buy these! Not only were they one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I’ve ever tried on, but they are the “built in warm” pants and you need them. I know that my classroom is typically freezing, and I have outside duty in the dead of winter, so sometimes, regular pants just don’t cut it. These are amazing. You need them. That is all. Oh, and, they run TTS, I’m wearing the 4 here, because I wasn’t sure how they would fit with the built in warmth, but I could have done the 2.

Sweater | Pants | Booties

This top is a great option for the holidays as well. Its a more normal length top rather than a tunic. I think it would look super cute with a black skirt as well. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Top | Pants | Booties

This sweater was so comfy and cozy! It came in several other color options, but I really just loved the cream color. It was nice and cozy without being too bulky. It was also slightly longer in the back, making it legging friendly. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Sweater | Pants | Booties

This denim jacket, you guys… I’m OBSESSED. I saw it from the parking lot and I knew it was going to be good! I grabbed a medium, because I knew I would want to try it on with a sweater and wanted to have some room. It fit perfectly. If I weren’t going to wear a sweater under it, I probably could have done the small. The sherpa lining is through the inside everywhere except the sleeves.

Jacket | Sweater | Pants | Booties

This is the same white top from earlier and I just paired it with this super long cardigan. I loved the length of the cardigan, however, I needed to size down to an XS. I’m wearing the small and there was just so much extra material under the arms. It comes in several other colors as well. It was super cozy and perfect for leggings.

Sweater | Tee | Pants | Booties

Old Navy Try-On – October 2019

Isn’t it funny how you go shopping and grab things off the racks thinking they’ll look amazing on you, and they look atrocious (only when you really had high hopes of course). But then, you grab something you’re totally not feeling and put it on, and it’s like it was made custom for you!? I’ve always found that interesting. I feel like it’s always the case for me!

First up, this dress. It caught my eye from across the store and I knew I was going to love it. However, I recommend sizing down. There was only one in the entire store, so I’m assuming it was an online return, or it sold like hotcakes as soon as it hit the rack. I’m almost always a small at Old Navy and that was the size of this dress. I love the fit of it, but I would definitely have been more comfortable in an XS. You can see that the dress was overall just a little bit baggy on me and the sleeves weren’t the right fit. Overall its a super cute, high quality dress and I highly recommend it, just size down.

I absolutely loved the fit of these booties! They were TTS, I had on a size 8. They hit just at the perfect spot on my ankles, they looked great with everything that I tried on, and they were a great price!

Leopard Dress | Booties

I feel like sometimes my outfits that I share as a teacher, are very relaxed for some. I know that I have a super chill dress code and I’m super thankful for that, but I also know that everything I wear isn’t something that all teachers can wear.

So, I decided to give Old Navy’s Pixie pants a try! I went SUPER out of my comfort zone and tried on a bright red pair. I generally stick to more basics when it comes to bottoms, since my thighs are my least favorite area of my body. I know that I’m on the smaller side in the scheme of things, but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect, or perfectly happy with every inch of my body. In the past I’ve found that non-black or darker colored dress pants tend to show all of the flaws that I’m trying to hide. However, these did not! I really loved the fit of them. They’re an “ankle” pant, but I have short legs, so they were definitely full length on me. To get a true ankle fit, I’d need the petite length. To try these with the booties, I just cuffed them at the bottom. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 4.

I’ve tried this sweater on before in the camel color, and I still love it. Its such a soft, cozy sweater, but not too heavy. It’s a nice lightweight material, and has a shorter length, not cropped, but hits just at the waist, so I wouldn’t recommend it with leggings. Otherwise its TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Sweater | Pants | Booties

This next sweater was just a perfect soft and cozy piece. I sized up to a medium for a more oversized fit and I loved the way it fit me. The color was just the perfect neutral and it would look awesome with pretty much any pant option.

The black pants I’m wearing are the same pixies as the red pair but I grabbed a size 2 because they didn’t have a 4. They fit perfectly fine, obviously just a smidge tighter than the red ones but I was happy with the fit.

Sweater | Pants | Booties

This sweater had to come home with me. I was in love with it. It’s perfect for leggings but also looked great with the black dress pants as well. I actually styled it similarly with my own black booties and black denim, also from Old Navy here.

Sweater | Pants | Booties

Same sweater but I wanted to show it with my all time favorite white denim. I talk about these things all the dang time, in fact, these weren’t really a part of the try-on, because they were the pants I wore to the store. But they’re so good, and still available so I can’t not share them. I highly recommend sizing up in this pair. I have a 4 (I’m usually 2/4 at ON) and they’re SUPER snug.

I also paired this outfit with my own mules that I was wearing that day. This pair of mules is so cute and I get SO many compliments when I wear them. They’re a great rusty brown color, run TTS, and go with everything!

Sweater | Pants | Mules

I was browsing the flannels and I really liked this option. It was so different from all the others, so I grabbed it to try on. I paired it with a luxe shirt underneath and my white denim and mules. I loved the combo! It’s TTS, I’m wearing the small. You can easily go up a size for a more oversized fit.

I paired it with a luxe top, which you can never go wrong with! Super comfy and cute! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Flannel | Shirt | Pants | Mules

I’ve been loving the cardi-coat trend, and was super excited to try this one! Unfortunately I needed an XS because the small is slightly too large on me. However, it was super warm and cozy! I loved it!

I kept the luxe top on with it and threw on a cute pair of light wash denim. Of course I had to cuff them #shortlegproblems. But they were super comfortable and a great basic pair of denim.

Cardi-Coat | Denim | Booties

I was looking for another simple shirt to pair with the denim, and I found this! It was super soft and super cute. I sized up to a medium to have a more oversized fit and it fit great!

Sweater | Denim | Booties

What are you loving right now from Old Navy? What are your favorites from this try-on?

JCPenney Try-On • October 2019

I swear JCPenney goes through phases where they have a ton of good stuff and then they won’t have anything for a while. Let me just tell you, they’re on fire right now.

I stopped in super quickly last week and it was hard to not leave with every single item in the dressing room.

Let’s take a look at the goodies I found, shall we?

*This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase after clicking my link I earn a super small commission on your purchase at no extra charge to you. Thank you so much to those of you who help support my blog and shop through my links. It means the world to me.❤️

First we have a super simple and casual outfit. This is probably my favorite colorblock cardigan I’ve tried on this year. Its super soft and stretchy, just a different material than I’ve seen before, and of course the colors are perfect! It definitely runs large. I’m wearing an XS and it fits perfectly!

These simple tees are perfect and super affordable. I sized up to a medium so that I’d have enough length to wear them with leggings if I wanted to. I grabbed the white and the black with white stripes (not shown in this try-on) and would have gotten a few more colors, but Jen from The Sister Studio talked about them and everyone sold them out. So I got what I could, haha. I’d actually seen her talk about them on Instagram, but didn’t even realize it was the same one I was trying on until I put the item number in and it was the same. They’re TTS, I could have easily worn the small and had no issues, but because I wanted a little bit more length, I went with the medium. So it’s totally a personal preference.

This pair of Levi’s. OMG. I would have purchased them for sure If I had one more square inch of closet space and didn’t already own a ridiculous amount of denim. They were super stretchy, perfect rise, the rips hit me perfectly at the knee (although I think they’re designed to hit above the knee, I’m just short. Hence the cuffs at the bottom). I love them. If you’re between sizes, you can size down. I’m wearing a 4 in these and I’m normally a 4/6 depending on brand and fit. There are several color/style options online as well! Unfortunately, Levi’s are usually excluded from any coupons at JCPenney’s, but they’re under $40 right now without the coupon and that’s a great price for a great pair of denim.

Cardigan | Tee | Denim

I swapped out the colorblock cardigan for a different colorblock-ish cardigan. This was actually the first item I saw that sparked the try-on even happening. I’m such a neutrals girl, that this just called me over. I love the cut of it, the stripes and darker bottom, everything about it. Honestly this would look great with black dress pants as well! This is definitely a great piece for the office! I’m wearing a small, it fits TTS.

Cardigan | Tee | Denim

And here we have yet another cardigan with the same tee and denim. I really liked how different this cardigan was. It comes in other colors as well, but the camo was what caught my eye. If I had to choose of all the cardigans I tried on, this would probably be my least favorite, but I still really like it. Its from the juniors department and I typically have to size up in juniors sizes, so I looked for a medium but they didn’t have one. The small fits me really well and is actually slightly oversized, so I’d say go with your true size.

Cardigan | Tee | Denim

Black on Black on Black. Can you ever wear too much black? I don’t think so. I had been dying to try this tunic since seeing it on Jen Reed, and as always she did not disappoint. I’m actually wearing it in two different colors and sizes here. The black was a medium and the striped one is a small. Both fit me just fine and I didn’t really notice much of a difference, nor did I have a preference to the size that fit better. So, I would say that the sizes are fairly flexible for this one. Obviously the larger of the two sizes is slightly longer, so if you’re looking to wear with leggings, I’d say go with the larger one. The small was also a bit more snug on my hips, but it wasn’t so bad that it bothered me.

This pair of black denim is another great pair of Levi’s but they’re on the snug side and I recommend sizing up if you’re in between sizes. Like I said earlier, I’m normally a 4/6 depending on fit and brand, and I grabbed these in the 6 and they were a bit snug. I was also a little bit bloated that day, so I wouldn’t say you need to go up if you’re consistently the same size, but they are definitely a more snug fitting style than the first pair I tried on. Still a perfect pair of black denim! They’re super dark so if you have a pretty relaxed dress code for work, you should be able to wear these! As per usual, they were long on me (short leg problems) but I couldn’t cuff them because of the huge security tag on the ankle.

Tunic | Denim

Here is the striped version of the tunic in a size small. Its definitely a smidge more fitted in my hips, but not in a bad way. I love the stripes too!

Tunic | Denim

If you follow my Instagram, you already saw this tunic and OMG its probably my favorite thing. the fit is great. It actually runs big, because I’m wearing an XS here and it was perfect. The arms have an elastic band in them to keep the sleeves where you want them. It’s hard to tell in the picture here, but if you look closely, the shoulder is slightly ruched, which just adds a little something. It’s a perfect V-neck that isn’t too low for work! You can easily dress this to go out on the weekends too. You know I’m all about the versatile pieces!

Tunic | Denim

I just loved the taupe color of this sweater. It’s meant to have a looser fit through the chest and arms, and if I didn’t carry all of my weight in my hips, I probably could have sized down to an XS for a slightly more fitted top portion, however, being that its meant to be snug on the hip area, an XS would not work for me. The length is perfect tunic length, and it would work amazingly well with leggings. There are zippers on the hips that are functional, so you can unzip them if you like. That would be what I’d do if I were going with the XS. Super cute and super soft.

Sweater | Denim

Better image of the side zipper and texture of the material.

I absolutely love the sweater poncho trend that is happening right now. I also really love the speckled sweaters as well! This one is adorable but it didn’t come home with me for two reasons. First, I just purchased one that is similar from Loft on sale. (I paid more for that one than this one.. but.. when there’s a sale at Loft, I’m taking full advantage.) Second, this was a little bit itchy, and is made of 100% acrylic. Now, I will say, I’m SUPER sensitive to itchiness. Like, SUPER, SUPER sensitive. So it’s probably a person to person basis which things your skin can handle and which it can’t. I will say though, that this would look SO cute with a long sleeve black shirt under it. An extra layer for warmth and it would help with the itch. Win-Win. If you’re not sensitive to itchy materials, give this one a shot, because it is beautiful.

Sweater | Denim

Where are my long-armed friends at? Kidding. But seriously if you need a longer arm sweater this is for you. I actually have on the XS in this picture and really loved it but ended up taking home the small because the one I tried on had a stain and there wasn’t another in the store. It’s SO soft and so comfortable! I can’t wait to wear it! It comes in at least one other color for sure! Definitely recommend sizing down in this one!

Sweater | Denim

I’d love to hear your favorite items from the try-on! What are some other things you’ve seen at JCPenney or have purchased there lately that I didn’t see? Let’s chat!

Kohl’s Try-On • September 2019

You know how sometimes you go shopping and you are so ready to spend some money on new things, but you can’t find ANYTHING?! But then other times, you just have some free time and want to browse but not really spend a ton, and you want literally everything that you try on or look at! That does happen to other people right?! Well, that was me during this trip to Kohl’s. I haven’t been there in a while, and had a few minutes after school to stop and take a peek. Guys, I could’ve easily bought every single thing I touched. I think its a mind game. Maybe I need to go “browse” more often when I’m actually in need of something. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I wanted to buy every single item I tried on!

First, let’s talk about these booties. I’ve got them on in every picture, and that shows just how versatile they are. They’re the absolute cutest, they come in several different colors, some patent finish and some suede finish like these. Both are great options, and I love all of the colors!

This dress was one of the first items I saw when I walked into the store. I thought it was so cute, but had a feeling I wasn’t going to love it on me. I was so wrong! This was adorable! It was also super comfy and had pockets. That right there should be the selling point. Dresses with pockets are 100 times better than dresses without. Everything about this dress was wonderful. It’s a “mini” dress, so it may be a tad too short for some people’s liking, but I’m only 5’4″, so it hit me at a great spot, just above my knees. It was loose and flowy, but also fitted in the right spots. The sleeves were so adorable too! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Dress Booties

In addition to this sweater being the absolute perfect fall color, it has the cutest cut as well! I love that it’s long enough for leggings, but also a great length to pair with jeans. It was super soft and comfortable, and also very lightweight and perfect for the transition into fall. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

LC by Lauren Conrad never disappoints me. These jeans were a perfect non-distressed pair of comfortable, mid-rise denim. The wash was a great color, the rise was perfect, and the overall fit was just great! I of course had to cuff them because they were too long on me, but they do come in a short option online, which I would definitely opt for with my height. Otherwise they are TTS, I’m wearing a 6.

SweaterDenimBooties

This sweater is another lightweight option for the fall, and I’m loving the color! This would look great as it is with denim, or with a pair of dressier pants for work. It was super comfortable and TTS, I’m wearing a small.

SweaterDenimBooties

Of course if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know how much I love leopard anything. When I saw this part of me was thinking it was a little bit too Lisa Frank-ish, but the other part of me was thinking about how much I loved Lisa Frank and that was the part that won. Its a really fun take on a basic print, but its not too bright or obnoxious. Add in that these tees are some of the softest out there, and its a winner for sure! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

TopDenimBooties

I think that this sweater is absolutely darling! It also comes in a leopard print as well. Its definitely more of a fitted sweater, rather than the oversized look that we all love. But, I think everyone needs a good fitted option. I paired it with leggings, but it would look great with dress pants for work or denim on the weekend! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

These leggings are a great pair of “pants” leggings. They’re the thick material that have a thick waistband to hold everything in. They don’t look bad with this sweater, but I’d prefer to wear a longer sweater to cover my booty a little more with them. Of course that is all a matter of personal preference! They’re TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Sweater LeggingsBooties

This tunic top was a great simple top to throw on with jeans or dress pants! It was the LC by Lauren Conrad brand and had super cute back detail, that I unfortunately do not have a photo of. (I’m a great blogger, I know.) It was super comfortable, and just an easy piece that didn’t require much thought. A steamer, maybe, but thought, none needed. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

TopDenimBooties

This top is actually the same as the top above, but just a different color option. I thought they were two different shirts, but when I pull them up online, they are the same. The lace on the bottom definitely changes it up enough for me to consider them two different shirts and want both of them. Same as the other, it’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

I’m never going to give up on leopard, so of course I was in love with this one when I saw it. It has some of my favorite elements.. leopard, puffy sleeves, the perfect length to give it more of a dressy appearance. This is definitely a top I would pair with actual black pants or denim, not leggings. It didn’t look bad with these leggings, its again, just more of a comfort thing. Especially for wearing to work. But you can get the idea of what it would look like with some black pants. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Black is so difficult to photograph, I even tried to lighten the photo so that you could see it a little better and this was all I could do. But I had to share this blazer with you. I love a good blazer with a graphic tee and denim, with a dressy tank and dress pants, over a swing dress… the options are abundant. A good blazer has to be comfortable. I can’t wear something if its not comfortable! I’ve tried on a lot of blazers in my life and I’ve got a few great options in my closet that I love and can’t bear the thought of parting with, but I’ve also tried some really stiff and uncomfortable ones as well. This one, I’d say it ranks in my top 5 most comfortable blazers I’ve ever tried on. It’s definitely a more relaxed, boyfriend fit for a blazer, so if you’re looking for something super tailored and form fitting, this is not the blazer for you. If you want something relaxed but still put together, this is for you! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Another awesome piece from Lauren Conrad’s line! I absolutely love the sleeve detail on this sweater. It’s super lightweight and soft, and an appropriate length for leggings. I love the speckled look throughout the material and the tie on the hip just gives it a little something different. the sleeves are slightly ballooned out and I absolutely loved it! If you’re looking for a more fitted top, size down, otherwise I’d say its TTS, I’m wearing the small.

SweaterLeggingsBooties

I may have saved the best for last. I’m seriously so in love with this trend of sweaters with skirts and booties. This sweater was so incredibly soft, I’m pretty sure I need it in every single color. It’s not tight around the neck at all, the sleeves are perfectly ballooned, and the length is perfect for a front tuck. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

This skirt is a MUST have for fall! It was honestly the most comfortable skirt I think I’ve ever worn. I grabbed a size 4 and could easily have sized down to a 2, it was very loose. So, I highly recommend sizing down at least one size. The color is amazing, the comfort is off the charts, the fit is just perfect! I can’t say enough good things about it!

Target Try-On • September 2019

It’s been a little while since I shared some stuff from Target with you guys, so I thought I’d check the clothing out and see what I could find. We all know I’m at Target a shameful number of times per week, especially now that I’m back to school and I can stop in there really quickly without my children.

*This post contains affiliate links.

First up, this adorable leopard dress. It’s a midi length, so it’s definitely work appropriate! The buttons are functional, so it’s a nursing friendly option, which is so hard to find in a cute dress! It comes with the belt attached and looks perfect! I’m wearing the XS in this photo because it was all they had in stock. I would have preferred the small, because it was bunching a bit. So I would say it’s TTS.

My booties are from Target as well, but they’re a bit older and out of stock in most regular sizes. However, they are available in most wide sizes!

I absolutely loved this top! The color is perfect for fall! The fit was so comfortable! It would look great with denim, colored denim, or white denim like I’m wearing here. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small!

This pair of white denim is so cute, but unfortunately too long for me. I had to cuff them and I just didn’t love the way that it looked with these booties. I feel like it made me look much shorter than I already am. They were very comfortable, and as you’ll see, they looked much better with the flats I tried on. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 6.

This shirt is one of my favorite items I tried on. It’s perfect for the current transition from summer to fall. It looks great with shorts and pants. It’s super comfortable, hits at exactly the right length, and comes in a variety of colors. It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

I absolutely love love love these flats! They’re a perfect color for fall, the fit is amazing. They’re TTS, I’m wearing an 8.

No joke the day after I tried this sweatshirt on, one of my students was wearing it to school! That honestly made me love it even more! It’s so cute, so comfy, and just perfect. I love the stripes, the colors, and the little embroidered heart! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

This denim was such an amazing pair of clean, simple denim. They are so comfortable. The perfect dark wash with no distressing. As always, I had to cuff them, but that’s not a huge issue for me. The best part?! They’re $15!!

A perfect go to outfit for running errands or lounging around the house. Throw on a tee, leggings, and a sweater and you’re good to go!

I absolutely adore this cardigan. It’s such an amazing color! The fit was also great! It’s long enough for leggings and I can’t get enough! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

As always, a simple white tee is essential. This is a small and I think I would have preferred a medium, especially since I was wearing it with leggings, and well…. two kids = no longer perfectly flat stomach. I’ve gone through multiple of these tees from Target and will continue to love them!

These leggings! They’re supposed to be a great dupe for the Spanx faux leather leggings. I’m not at a point in my life where I can justify $100 leggings, so I opted for the $15 pair from Target, and y’all, they’re good. So. Good! I am obsessed. I actually sized down in these to a small and they’re perfect!

Years ago I was obsessed with zebra print. I think I went through a phase where I was kind of over it, but animal print is back this fall and I am here for it!! I’ve never really stopped loving the animal prints, but I toned them down when they weren’t as popular. This sweater is so cute! I love the balloon sleeves. I will be honest, though, it was slightly itchy. I was hot and in a rush and flustered, but I do remember it wasn’t the absolute softest thing I’ve ever tried on. was it cute?! Yes. Would I still wear it? Absolutely! It paired so well with the same leggings and flats from the previous picture. My store didn’t have a small, so I tried on the medium. I’d have gone with the small if they’d had one in stock. It’s definitely TTS.

I paired the sweater with the same leggings and flats but it would also work with denim as well.

Walmart Try-On – August 2019

I had a chance to stop into Walmart the other day and take a peek at the clothing and I was not disappointed! Also, not surprised, because they have such an outstanding selection of affordable and trendy clothes, that are not only cute, but great quality as well!

*This post contains affiliate links.*

I unfortunately was short on time, so the number of items I was able to try was limited, but they had so many great things. I highly recommend checking everything out online, where the selection seems endless! My local Walmart has a horrendous clothing section, that was a total disaster the last time I stopped in, so I stopped at one closer to my mom and struck gold!

I’ll apologize now for the lack of shoes with the outfits, but you can’t take shoes into the fitting rooms and I was wearing rose gold sneakers which would have been pretty funny with these outfits!

First up, let’s talk about the Free People dupe top I’ve been talking about. Funny story, I stopped at TJMaxx the other day and the actual Free People top was there. Spoiler alert, I like the Walmart version better! It’s perfectly oversized and so comfortable. Go with your true size. I’m wearing a small, and just like the Free People version, it has very long sleeves. I like that though, and I love this top!

Thermal Tunic

Perfect legging length!

Another outfit, another thermal. We all know I’m in love with all thermals and this one is no exception. It comes in several colors and is SO comfortable! It’s also TTS, I’m wearing a small. I think if you’re between sizes at all, you may want to size up, especially for the arms. I was perfectly happy with the fit, but I could see how the sleeve may bother some. This also comes in a variety of colors.

Thermal

This sweater tank is a perfect option for the office! I love the cowl neck and how easily this piece can transfer from fall to winter with a denim jacket or cardigan! It’s definitely not legging friendly, but I had to work with what I had! It’s pretty TTS, but if between sizes, I would go up one.

Sweater Tank

Up next, another work friendly option. First, a basic black long sleeve tee. (That you can totally rock with literally any pants!) These Time and Tru shirts are SO SOFT! I went with a small and it fit perfectly!

These pants, you guys! They are SO GOOD! And UNDER $15!!! What?! Not only are they adorable, but so comfy and so affordable! They have a side zipper and unfortunately no pockets which is a down side, but for that price and comfort level, I could make them work! They would also look awesome with a black cami and cardigan! Unfortunately, I’m not able to find them online at all! I’ll come back and update if I do find them! Check your stores though!

Black Shirt

I swear one of these days I’ll remember to take the big obnoxious tags off of the clothes before I take my pictures. But for now, you’ll just have to deal with my mombrain.

This thermal Henley was so comfortable and came in so many different color options. So naturally I chose the leopard, because would I even be me if I didn’t? I wanted a more oversized looser fit for this one so I grabbed a medium and I think it was perfect. A small definitely would fit me, but it would be a lot more snug than I’d like it to be. This top is so comfy. I highly recommend!

These jeans caught my eye from across the clothing department. I don’t really have a good pair of looser, more relaxed fitting denim, because I struggle to find pairs that I truly love. I thought this was a great option! They’re super comfortable and great for running errands or chasing the kids around. They run TTS, I’m wearing a 4.

Leopard Thermal | Denim

I wish I had more items to share with you guys, but the ones that I did find are pretty great! I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for those leopard pants. I’ve been checking daily, and haven’t found them yet. Walmart’s website can be pretty tricky though.. So if they’re out there, I’m still searching!

What was your favorite item from this try-on? Let’s chat!

Old Navy Try-On • August 2019

If you haven’t already heard, Old Navy is having a 40% off sale right now and they are fully stocked with amazing, already affordable items. Take 40% off and you are sure to score some major steals! The sale ends today, so make sure to grab your favorites before it ends!

*This post contains affiliate links.

I was able to stop in super quickly the other day and try on a few items to share with you guys! The sale is online only, but if you prefer to get the items that same day, you can always do the buy online, pickup in store option. It’s super easy and quick, and you usually get a better deal by purchasing the items online!

I saw this sweatshirt from across the store, and we all know I’m slightly obsessed with leopard (only a little, right?) and knew I had to try it on. It seemed shorter, so I grabbed a medium to try on. I could have gotten away with the small. This sweatshirt was SO soft. I loved the tie detail around the waist as well. Overall a very cute and comfy piece that would be perfect with leggings or high waisted denim!

I absolutely DO NOT need another pair of denim, but I’m a denim girl and always have been, so I couldn’t resist the chance to try on yet another pair. I’m pretty sure by the end of this year, I will have tried on and/or own every single pair of denim that Old Navy sells/has sold/will sell. Old Navy denim is just good. It is affordable, high quality, comfortable, and lasts. What more could you ask for in a pair of denim. Aside from American Eagle, I’d have to say Old Navy is one of my favorite brands for denim. Okay, now that we got that long sidebar out of the way… As I was saying, this pair is great. I knew it would be. I loved that it was an “ankle” length and it actually hit me right at my ankle. I’m 5’4” and sometimes things don’t fit my legs exactly like I want them to. This pair did! They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 2. (I’m generally a size 4 or 6 but Old Navy runs larger on me, so I’m either a 2 or 4 here.)

I’ve been looking at these mules for a while, and if you ask me, they’re a must have. They’re the PERFECT cognac color for fall and the fit is flawless.

Sweatshirt // Denim // Shoes

Same denim, different top. I saw this sweater on the rack, and it was love at first sight. Not only was the color purely perfection, but the fit! It was so good, and now as I look at this picture, I realize what a terrible shot I took of the shirt. I’m literally covering up the best part with my hair and phone. I’m a really good fashion blogger.

Sweater // Denim // Shoes

This tunic sweater is literally everything you need for this fall and winter. It comes in so many different color options and the fit is so good. I have it in a small and I’d say it’s perfectly TTS. It looks so good with denim and leggings! The possibilities are endless!

This darker wash denim is another great option if you are looking for a non-distressed pair of denim. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 2.

Sweater // Denim

Another great sweater option! This multi-colored sweater is so soft and cozy! I love the puffy sleeves and the open neck. It gives the option to be worn off the shoulder as well! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

Sweater // Denim // Shoes

One more perfect sweater! Can you tell I’m here for fall?! I’m over the shorts and tanks, give me the cozies and pumpkin everything please! This camel color is perfection. The fit is amazing. I can’t say enough good about this sweater! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small!

Sweater // Denim

Last but not least, an outfit that can be so easily changed by just swapping your pants. I love this denim jacket! It is perfect! I went with my true small and it fits great! You can size up for a more oversized fit. I have this in a different wash in a medium and it fits me really well also.

For some reason I’m struggling to find this top online, but I’m linking the most similar option I can find. It’s a luxe top, which are some of the best from Old Navy, but you could easily wear the t-shirt or tank version and achieve the same look!

I love these pants so much I’ve got them in several colors! They fit amazingly well. If you’re between sizes I recommend going with your larger, for example, like I said earlier I’m usually a 2/4 in Old Navy and I prefer these in a size 4. They don’t stretch out at all. These pants were actually the pants I wore the day I did the try-on and I’d been wearing them all day when I took this picture!

Jacket // Top // Pants // Shoes

Happy Shopping! I can’t wait to see what you guys buy! What are your favorite items??
