Old Navy Try-On – October 2019

Isn’t it funny how you go shopping and grab things off the racks thinking they’ll look amazing on you, and they look atrocious (only when you really had high hopes of course). But then, you grab something you’re totally not feeling and put it on, and it’s like it was made custom for you!? I’ve always found that interesting. I feel like it’s always the case for me!

First up, this dress. It caught my eye from across the store and I knew I was going to love it. However, I recommend sizing down. There was only one in the entire store, so I’m assuming it was an online return, or it sold like hotcakes as soon as it hit the rack. I’m almost always a small at Old Navy and that was the size of this dress. I love the fit of it, but I would definitely have been more comfortable in an XS. You can see that the dress was overall just a little bit baggy on me and the sleeves weren’t the right fit. Overall its a super cute, high quality dress and I highly recommend it, just size down.

I absolutely loved the fit of these booties! They were TTS, I had on a size 8. They hit just at the perfect spot on my ankles, they looked great with everything that I tried on, and they were a great price!

I feel like sometimes my outfits that I share as a teacher, are very relaxed for some. I know that I have a super chill dress code and I’m super thankful for that, but I also know that everything I wear isn’t something that all teachers can wear.

So, I decided to give Old Navy’s Pixie pants a try! I went SUPER out of my comfort zone and tried on a bright red pair. I generally stick to more basics when it comes to bottoms, since my thighs are my least favorite area of my body. I know that I’m on the smaller side in the scheme of things, but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect, or perfectly happy with every inch of my body. In the past I’ve found that non-black or darker colored dress pants tend to show all of the flaws that I’m trying to hide. However, these did not! I really loved the fit of them. They’re an “ankle” pant, but I have short legs, so they were definitely full length on me. To get a true ankle fit, I’d need the petite length. To try these with the booties, I just cuffed them at the bottom. They’re TTS, I’m wearing a 4.

I’ve tried this sweater on before in the camel color, and I still love it. Its such a soft, cozy sweater, but not too heavy. It’s a nice lightweight material, and has a shorter length, not cropped, but hits just at the waist, so I wouldn’t recommend it with leggings. Otherwise its TTS, I’m wearing a small.

This next sweater was just a perfect soft and cozy piece. I sized up to a medium for a more oversized fit and I loved the way it fit me. The color was just the perfect neutral and it would look awesome with pretty much any pant option.

The black pants I’m wearing are the same pixies as the red pair but I grabbed a size 2 because they didn’t have a 4. They fit perfectly fine, obviously just a smidge tighter than the red ones but I was happy with the fit.

This sweater had to come home with me. I was in love with it. It’s perfect for leggings but also looked great with the black dress pants as well. I actually styled it similarly with my own black booties and black denim, also from Old Navy here.

Same sweater but I wanted to show it with my all time favorite white denim. I talk about these things all the dang time, in fact, these weren’t really a part of the try-on, because they were the pants I wore to the store. But they’re so good, and still available so I can’t not share them. I highly recommend sizing up in this pair. I have a 4 (I’m usually 2/4 at ON) and they’re SUPER snug.

I also paired this outfit with my own mules that I was wearing that day. This pair of mules is so cute and I get SO many compliments when I wear them. They’re a great rusty brown color, run TTS, and go with everything!

I was browsing the flannels and I really liked this option. It was so different from all the others, so I grabbed it to try on. I paired it with a luxe shirt underneath and my white denim and mules. I loved the combo! It’s TTS, I’m wearing the small. You can easily go up a size for a more oversized fit.

I paired it with a luxe top, which you can never go wrong with! Super comfy and cute! It’s TTS, I’m wearing a small.

I’ve been loving the cardi-coat trend, and was super excited to try this one! Unfortunately I needed an XS because the small is slightly too large on me. However, it was super warm and cozy! I loved it!

I kept the luxe top on with it and threw on a cute pair of light wash denim. Of course I had to cuff them #shortlegproblems. But they were super comfortable and a great basic pair of denim.

I was looking for another simple shirt to pair with the denim, and I found this! It was super soft and super cute. I sized up to a medium to have a more oversized fit and it fit great!
